The University of Lille and the AFEA (the French Association for American Studies) are delighted to welcome you to the 52nd Conference of the French Association for American Studies.
This year, we will gather to discuss "Post-America," a topic which invites us to rethink our understanding of the multiple scansions of U.S. history.
The fourth largest metropolis in France, an hour away from Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, and less than two hours away from London, Lille is a dynamic and young city. The 17th-century brick-and-stone buildings of the Old Town remain to this day its historic heart.
A team of students will be ready to answer all your queries and help you with transportation between the university campus and the city center where the reception at the City Hall and the banquet will take place.
This year, the organizing committee is working towards a “zero waste conference”! As much as possible, the aim is to reduce the waste of disposable items during meals and coffee breaks, and to offset the carbon footprint of the participants. We’re hoping for your enthusiasm!
Those of you who wish to extend their stay in Lille and its region can click the "Accommodation" tab.
We wish you a great Conference and a wonderful stay among us,
The Organizing Committee.
